GVS Thailand Enhances Safety Standards, Donating High-Performance Respiration Masks to “Duang Prateep Foundation Fire Unit” in Support of Frontline Volunteers

Bangkok – Recently, GVS, a global leader in filtration innovation, led by Mr. Gianmaria Pece, General Manager, along with staff members, visited the Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF) to support its ongoing community missions. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Ms. Prateep Ungsongtham Hata, Founder and Secretary-General of the Foundation.

The Duang Prateep Foundation was established in 1978 by Ms. Prateep Ungsongtham Hata, a Magsaysay Award laureate, under the philosophy of “Promoting Education for Poor Children, Developing the Underprivileged.” From its humble beginnings as a “One Baht a Day” school beneath a stilt house, it has grown into a renowned charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and residents in impoverished urban communities. Today, the foundation serves as a cornerstone for the welfare of the Klong Toey community, overseeing education, public health, and disaster prevention through its dedicated volunteer fire unit.

On this occasion, Mr. Gianmaria Pece officially presented GVS’s high-performance respiration masks, designed to filter toxic smoke, chemicals, and gases, to the Duang Prateep Foundation Fire Unit. These masks serve as essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for young volunteers during firefighting and rescue operations. Additionally, GVS provided medical-grade masks for patient care and community health services, ensuring the safety of volunteers working in high-risk, densely populated areas.

Ms. Prateep Ungsongtham Hata expressed her gratitude, stating that these protective devices are vital because firefighting and rescue work in crowded communities carry constant risks from toxic fumes and hazardous substances. Receiving international-standard equipment significantly enhances the protection of the volunteers’ lives as they serve on the frontlines for the public.

This contribution reflects the commitment of GVS Thailand to leveraging its corporate innovations for tangible social benefit and standing as a dedicated partner in fostering a safe and sustainable Thai community.
